Another factor contributing to feeling overwhelmed is the high rate of divorce. We may be the primary breadwinner or sole support of our households. Single/divorced women have the added responsibility for attending to all the household details such as home maintenance, groceries, cleaning, insurance, etc. in addition to parenting and job responsibilities. Taking risks seem to be out of the question without some sort of safety net.
