Interestingly, just last week I flew through Schipohl (Amsterdam) airport, admittedly not thru the gates for flights to the US, and was treated courteously. The employees in fact were so friendly that I was taken off guard as I don't necessarily expect security agents to smile and chat with me. I’m all too quick to judge people as incompetent and your post is a reminder to try to see things through others’ eyes before making a possibly unjust judgement.
